Another Perspective on the Language Barrier

It is definitely the case that I am more comfortable listening to Americans speaking English than any sort of foreign national. Probably the same is true with many other people.

Given that viewpoint, why should I care that other people have to struggle to understand my poor English? It is their personal problem and inconvenience, which, in fact, doesn't exist in my conceptual world. Meanwhile, I can enjoy listening to native speakers, getting all the benefits of interaction.

P.S. If we add the issue of hearing your native language being misused everyday, I feel okay on my side in this tide of things.
